These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Vahana.lk Reminder Service (the "Service") operated by Candea Digital (Pvt) Ltd ("we", "us", or "our"). By registering, logging in, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. About the Service

The Reminder Service helps drivers in Sri Lanka manage vehicle-related expiry reminders, access a digital e-card, view promotions, and receive SMS notifications. The Service is provided through localhost:3001 and is part of the broader Vahana.lk automotive platform.

2. Eligibility

You must provide accurate information and use a mobile number you are authorised to use. You must be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement under Sri Lankan law. One account should correspond to one person; sharing login credentials is not permitted.

3. Registration and login

  • Registration requires valid personal details and OTP verification by SMS.
  • You are responsible for keeping access to your mobile number secure.
  • You must notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information or violate these Terms.

4. Reminders and SMS

You are responsible for the accuracy of reminder dates and vehicle information you enter. Reminders are sent automatically based on your settings (typically 7 days before, 3 days before, and on the due date). SMS delivery depends on mobile networks and third-party providers; we do not guarantee delivery times or receipt. The Service is a reminder tool only — it does not replace official renewal processes, legal obligations, or professional advice.

5. Digital e-card and promotions

  • Your e-card is for identification and Reminder Service benefits as described on the platform. It must not be altered, copied, or misused.
  • Promotions are offered by third parties or partners. We do not guarantee availability, pricing, or quality of promoted goods or services.
  • When you express interest in a promotion, your contact details may be shared with the relevant partner so they can respond to you.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive purposes.
  • Attempt to bypass security, scrape data, or interfere with system operation.
  • Upload harmful, offensive, or infringing content (including profile photos).
  • Impersonate another person or register using someone else's mobile number without consent.

7. Account suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we reasonably believe your account poses a risk to the Service or other users. You may stop using the Service at any time. Provisions that by nature should survive termination (including limitations of liability and governing law) will continue to apply.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, branding, software, and content (except user content you provide), is owned by or licensed to Candea Digital (Pvt) Ltd and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that reminders will always be delivered on time.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Candea Digital (Pvt) Ltd and its officers, employees, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from missed renewals, penalties, fines, accidents, or reliance on reminders.

11. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

12. Changes to the Service and Terms

We may modify features or these Terms at any time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka, unless mandatory consumer protection rules provide otherwise.
